Changing the Way Students Connect | Meet Maximilian Brown

We had the pleasure of connecting with Maximilian Brown, the founder of MUV, an innovative app designed to keep college students connected to everything happening on campus. Maximilian is on a mission to make student life more organized, engaging, and accessible, and he’s now exploring ways to expand MUV’s impact beyond college campuses and into the local business community.

What inspired you to start your journey or business? What was your “aha” moment?

The idea for MUV came from a simple but frustrating reality—students were missing out on great events and opportunities simply because they didn’t know they were happening.

"I kept hearing people say, ‘I wish I had known about that event!’ and I realized—this is a real problem. Why not build something that makes it easy for students to stay connected to campus life?"

That was the moment MUV was born.

Maximilian saw an opportunity to simplify event discovery, help students manage their schedules, and create a more connected college experience. And now, he’s looking at ways to leverage MUV’s infrastructure to support local businesses as well.

What challenges have you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?

Building MUV from the ground up wasn’t easy. From app development and marketing to gaining user trust, every step came with challenges.

"At first, the hardest part was just getting students to try something new. People are used to their routines, so introducing a new platform required patience and persistence."

But instead of seeing challenges as roadblocks, Maximilian saw them as opportunities to ask for help and learn.

"I knew I didn’t have all the answers, so I reached out to mentors, business owners, and people who had experience in tech. I asked questions, listened, and applied what I learned."

Through seeking advice, staying adaptable, and continuously improving the app, MUV has grown into a trusted platform for students—and now, Maximilian is applying that same mindset as he works to expand MUV’s reach into local business support.

What do you love most about what you do?

For Maximilian, the best part of building MUV is seeing how it impacts students’ lives.

"It’s amazing to hear from students who say, ‘I found my favorite club through MUV’ or ‘I finally feel like I’m part of campus life.’ That’s what it’s all about."

He also enjoys the entrepreneurial journey—the challenge of solving problems, learning new skills, and continuously improving the platform.

"Every day is different. There’s always something new to learn, a new challenge to tackle, or an exciting opportunity to explore."

How does your work or passion contribute to the Pacific Northwest community?

As MUV continues to grow, its impact extends beyond just one campus—it’s helping create more connected student communities across the Pacific Northwest.

By partnering with universities, student organizations, and event planners, Maximilian and his team are ensuring that students can easily discover opportunities, get involved, and make the most of their college experience.

Now, Maximilian is exploring how MUV’s infrastructure could also benefit local businesses.

"Small businesses and local events often face the same challenge that student organizations do—getting the word out. We’re looking at how MUV can help bridge that gap by providing a platform where businesses can engage with students in a more meaningful way."

His goal is to create a stronger connection between students and the local business community, supporting both in the process.

What inspires or motivates you every day?

Maximilian is motivated by impact. Seeing MUV help students stay engaged, meet new people, and manage their schedules more efficiently keeps him focused on growth.

"The more we expand, the more students and businesses we can help. That’s what drives me—knowing that we’re making a difference in people’s experiences."

What advice would you give to someone looking to follow a similar path?

For aspiring entrepreneurs, Maximilian emphasizes taking action and learning as you go.

"You don’t have to be an expert to start something great. The most important thing is to take the first step, listen to feedback, and keep improving."

He also encourages embracing failure as part of the process.

"Things won’t always go perfectly. But every challenge teaches you something valuable. Keep moving forward, and eventually, you’ll build something incredible."

And most importantly? Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

"Reaching out to mentors and learning from others has been one of the biggest game-changers for me. There’s so much knowledge out there—you just have to be willing to ask and apply it."

What are your goals for the next 1-3 years?

Maximilian has big plans for MUV and its future.

  • Expand to more college campuses to reach thousands of new students.

  • Enhance features to make event discovery and schedule management even more intuitive.

  • Partner with more student organizations to provide the best event experience possible.

  • Explore how MUV can support local businesses and help them engage with students more effectively.

"We’re just getting started. In a few years, I want MUV to be the go-to app for college students and a powerful tool for businesses looking to connect with their community."

What’s something people might not know about you?

Despite being an entrepreneur in tech and event management, Maximilian didn’t always see himself in this space.

"I never thought I’d be building an app. I just saw a problem that needed solving and decided to go for it."

What’s your favorite way to relax or recharge in the Pacific Northwest?

For Maximilian, the outdoors are the perfect escape.

"Whether it’s hiking, skiing, or just taking a weekend road trip, being outside helps me reset and stay creative."

What’s a hidden gem in the Pacific Northwest that everyone should know about?

One of his favorite underrated spots is a quiet lakeside area just outside of Seattle.

"Most people stick to the big tourist spots, but if you know where to look, there are so many peaceful, beautiful places to explore."

How can people find you and MUV?
