Building a Business That Empowers Women | Meet Rochelle Durruthy

We had the pleasure of connecting with Rochelle Durruthy, and we're excited to share our conversation with her below.

What inspired you to start your journey or business? What was your “aha” moment?

Oh goodness—growing up, my dad instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and showing up for the people you love. He was more than just a provider—he was present. He made time for us. He made time for what mattered. That stuck with me.

When I became a mom, I realized I wanted the same for my kids. I didn’t want to choose between building a career and being there for every milestone or missing a “Mom, watch this!” moment. I wanted both. I needed both.

My aha moment came when I realized I could create a business that aligned with my values—one where I could honor my dad’s legacy, build something meaningful for my kids, and help others along the way. Honor & Co. is proof that you can design a life that works for you. It’s about believing in yourself and betting on yourself. I’m doing this for my dad, for my kids, and for every other woman who wants to take control of her time, income, and life. Because we can have our cake and eat it too.

What challenges have you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?

I started with nothing. No audience, no strategy—just a blog and a passion for sharing my experiences. That blog turned into social media influencing, and over the years, I organically grew my platform to over 11,000 followers. No shortcuts, no gimmicks—just consistency, connection, and showing up.

My marketing business? That was built entirely on word-of-mouth. And let me tell you, that was hard. I was scared to grow. Scared to put myself out there. But I did it anyway. I learned that I couldn’t do this alone, and I leaned on my partner for support.

The biggest challenge, though? Losing my dad. He wasn’t just my rock in life—he was part of my business journey, too. When he passed, I lost a part of myself. I didn’t know what to do next. But I pushed forward, because everything he taught me—the work ethic, the drive, the belief in honor—lives on in me, in my kids, and in the business I’ve built.

I’ve had to read, learn, and grow more than I ever thought possible. And while the journey hasn’t been easy, it’s been worth it. Because this business? It’s everything I ever needed.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love connecting with people, uplifting businesses, and sharing what I truly believe in.

Honor & Co. is built on the belief that it’s an honor to work alongside others and bring their vision to life. And @withloverochelle is the Instagram influencing side of my business—everything I share, whether it’s a restaurant, a product, or a service, is always shared with love.

Helping people succeed and giving back in this way is what drives me every day.

How does your work or passion contribute to the Pacific Northwest community?

My work helps the PNW community by supporting local businesses, amplifying their stories, and connecting people to experiences they might not have discovered otherwise.

Through Honor & Co., I help businesses grow by providing marketing strategies that create real impact. And through @withloverochelle, I use my platform to highlight the best of the PNW—whether it’s a restaurant, a small shop, Silverwood, or a community event, it’s always with love (see what I did there? 😂).

At the heart of it all, I believe in building connections, fostering growth, and giving back to the place I’ve learned to call home.

What inspires or motivates you every day?

My kids, Naomi and Lennox. Without them, I’m sure I’d have no drive. I want them to work hard and succeed, and how can I want that for them if I’m not showing them the way?

But if we’re candidly speaking—the need for coffee too. 😂 Just kidding (kind of).

What advice would you give to someone looking to follow a similar path?

If you want to follow a similar path, know this—it’s not always glamorous, and it’s not easy money.

A lot of people think marketing and influencing are effortless, but they don’t see the late nights, the constant creativity, and the work that goes into making a vision come to life.

You have to be ready to put in the effort, stay consistent, and push forward—even when it feels like no one is watching.

It’s not for the weak-hearted or thin-skinned. Clients will say no. People online will be mean. But if you believe in what you’re doing, you have to be brave and bold enough to keep going.

And trust me—if I can do it, so can you.

What are your goals for the next 1-3 years?

In the next year, I see major growth—more clients, a stronger team, and the ability to step back while my business runs with a team that truly understands my vision.

I want to expand Honor & Co. beyond marketing into a full-scale agency that includes event coordination, branding, and strategy—everything I love, all under one powerhouse business.

Longer-term? I envision having an office space and building a real community—especially for women and moms. I want to create a flexible, supportive, and empowering work environment where moms can build careers without sacrificing their families.

Beyond that? I want land. A farm. A space where I can host events, bring people together, and build something bigger than just a business.

I know big things are coming. And if the growth I see now is any sign—three years from now? Who knows where I’ll be.

But I know it’s going to be huge.

What’s something people might not know about you?

Goodness—I’m an open book! What you see is what you get.

But I guess what shocks people the most is that I’m 100% Hispanic and bilingual.

What’s your favorite way to relax or recharge in the Pacific Northwest?

I love that I don’t have to spend days in the outdoors to feel recharged.

The Pacific Northwest offers everything—from amazing campgrounds and serene natural spots to spontaneous adventures.

For me, it’s…
Cruising the Columbia River
Taking a long drive to Seattle for incredible food & vibes
Soaking in the music & culinary scene

Anything that brings people together? That’s my perfect recharge.

What’s a hidden gem in the Pacific Northwest that everyone should know about?

Recently, I visited Kirkland, WA, and let me tell you—it was spectacular.

We checked out Lake Washington, and the whole area was just beautiful. People are always so quick to go straight to Seattle, but Kirkland? That’s a hidden gem worth exploring.

How can people find you?
